Look a little closer
A geometric accessory can organise simple shapes into a focal point. Compare a circular element with a narrow rectangle or an irregular outline in a drawing. The aim is to notice proportion and repetition, not to decide which shape suits every person.
A note for your design book
Make three small compositions on paper with the same number of elements. Change only their size or spacing and write what draws your attention first. Museum jewellery records provide different historical examples to study in context. Keep your exercise original and do not copy a maker’s distinctive design or represent a sketch as a tested jewellery construction.
