Look a little closer
A handle, long strap and closure can change how the same bag is carried and how its upper edge looks. Describe the component and its attachment before using broad labels such as practical or decorative. A closure hidden in a photograph should remain an unanswered question.
A note for your design book
Inspect an everyday accessory gently and record the components you can actually see. Note where movement, adjustment or access occurs. For a design exercise, sketch an alternative placement without claiming that it improves load-bearing performance. Historical museum examples can widen your visual vocabulary while their materials and intended uses remain tied to their own records.
